Crazy Horse Memorial

If you click on the picture to enlarge this, or go to the official site, you can see where they hope this will eventually be. I hope to take some pictures of it at night sometime, but there just never seems to be the time when I'm close.

My son's entire class did a performance dedicated to this. I can't recall whether it was in 3rd or 4th grade but they contacted the agency who run this memorial, got all the background information on Crazy Horse and the entire project and they were even sent a video to show during their performance on how the memorial was created. It was truly remarkable.

Kimmie - Thanks, it's quite the undertaking, and very interesting to see!

Jezzie - Isn't it just amazing to read about? I can't believe the SIZE...Mt. Rushmore would fit on Crazy Horse's forehead - unreal.

I'd love to see this. It would be so cool if they would get this done in my lifetime, but sadly, I don't think it will happen.

'Rita - You're right, probably not in our lifetime - I can't really see changes in the 17 years since I've moved away (though I know they're there)...but it's still awesome to see - especially if you take the time to go up in there and listen to the story behind it - it's truly beyond awesome.
